1966 - Lotus Elan S3 S/E Drop Head
Coupe
With Lotus-Ford 1.558 cc twin cam motor, Weber carburetters, tonneau
cover, hard- and soft top.
This excellent Elan originates directly from the 1st owner's (1936-2009)
family and possesses the complete history from the first NL 1966 pricelist
of this type until the present.
This Elan, like usual well maintained by a profi by himself, has driven in
total not yet 60.000 km. A second motorblock has been built in in '67/'68
and has been tuned by Carly Motors in 1992 to 147 Hp with a top speed over
200 km/hour (this cost at the time approx. Hfl. 20.000,=). The original
works motor was delivered with racing specifications and too fast for the
public road: 1st gear 0-120 km.
The car's equipment comprises a.o. a servo-assistance unit, black leather,
walnut wood dashboard, knock-off rims, roll-bar, Sabelt seatbelts,
superlight bonnet*, electrical synthetic side windows*, workshop- and parts
manual, etc. (*= originals also present).
At first it was mum's shopping car but very soon the Elan was used for
rallys (Sauerland Rally 1968) and it remained so every since.
This red, one time refinished/new chassis little speed devil is by all means
in a very good condition and can immediately be used for a classic rally.
Comes with a new Brantz, Terratrip or Monit Tripmeter, Handa rally startpack, it's history and many (new) spare parts.
